SoundBox Music is an artist services company based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, specializing in event publicity, tour management, label services and artist development. Founded in 2019 after working in the music industry for over a decade, Caroline Murphy and Sarah Atkinson have a combined experience in performing, touring and working with a diverse range of artists, funders, venues, agents and professional organizations. Whether it’s working with established musicians or those just starting out, they work with artists and their teams to identify objectives and goals, and address their current strategic needs. SoundBox Music works with artists to create realistic plans that will help them expand their reach and develop their careers.

Caroline Murphy
Originally from Ireland, Caroline has a B.A. in Irish Music and Dance from the University of Limerick and an M.A. in Cultural Policy and Arts Management from University College Dublin. Caroline has an impressive background deeply rooted in Celtic music, propelling her into a career managing the iconic Irish traditional music group, De Danann, one of the most influential bands in the history of traditional Irish music, from 2013-2016.

Building on her expertise, Caroline transitioned into the world of live events as a highly skilled production coordinator. She made significant contributions to renowned festivals such as the Volvo Ocean Race and Electric Picnic, where her meticulous coordination and attention to detail ensured seamless and memorable experiences for attendees.

After having lived in Canada for seven years, Caroline embarked on a new chapter by relocating to Wales in 2022. This move expanded her commitment to supporting musicians and festivals on both sides of the Atlantic, strengthening her role as a trusted ally for numerous esteemed clients.

Sarah Atkinson
Sarah Atkinson began her career in the music industry nearly two decades ago as a vocal artist and artist manager. After ten years of recording and touring Canada and abroad, Sarah moved to Halifax where she jumped headfirst into her passion for music business. Specializing in marketing and label services, Sarah has worked with independent labels and artists in a variety genres from Classical and Jazz to Folk, Rock and Punk-Rock.

Through SoundBox Music, she focuses on assisting artists with the strategic side of the music industry and helps connect them to the tools and resources needed to help their careers. Expanding upon her passion for helping artists and young industry professionals, Sarah teaches in the Creative Industries Department at NSCC - Ivany Campus and currently sits on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for Music Nova Scotia.
